Keeping your pet healthy is important to us.

The veterinary services provided by Beechmount Animal Hospital to clients in West Waterloo include the following:

Routine Health Care

Annual physical exams, vaccination, heartworm and intestinal parasite detection are all part of the essential health care routine that we provide.

Diagnostics

Our in house diagnostics include radiography (x-rays), blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis. Having diagnostic equipment in clinic allows us to diagnose illness quickly and effectively. We also have several outstanding board-certified veterinarians who are able to come and work on-site to provide consultations, ultrasound, and endoscopic services.

Surgery

Surgery is a daily occurrence at the Beechmount Animal Hospital. When most people think of surgery for their pets, they think of ovariohysterectomies (spay) and castrations (neuters). While we do these procedures routinely, we also do many other surgeries such as orthopedics, cruciate ligament stabilization, tumour removals and soft tissue surgery.

Dentistry

A clean and pain free mouth is an important contributor to your pet’s overall health. We recommend and perform dentistry on a regular basis. A COHAT (Comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment)/ Denstistry is a day procedure which involves an anesthetic to allow for a thorough examination of the mouth and teeth, probing and assessment of each tooth as well as scaling and polishing of the teeth .  After a physcal exam and assessment of the mouth is completed, full mouth x-rays are performed.  For many pets, the mouth can look completely normal but there is significant disease under the gumline – this is what x-rays reveal.   Early periodontal disease can be treated and monitored but when teeth have significant periodontal disease, surgical extraction of the affected teeth will be recommended.
